Dongjak SAY(Sexuality about Youth) gave a ‘gender equality’ lecture(basic training) for Pyeongchang Olympic volunteers in Wonju, Gangwon-do. There are lots of foreigner volunteers from various culture and different age, so the lecture was a basic level. We covered 5 contents from understanding of gender equality to how to call for help in emergency. Looking into sexual violence issues in past olympics, sexual violence misconceptions and Actions for gender-equal olympic part, volunteers make sure of ‘gender-equal olympic’ again. They really focused on my lecture thankfully , and I learned many things from them like a gender-sensitivity to respect differences.

Dongjak SAY also hope that Pyeongchang winter olympic and the paralympics will be gender-equal, and cheer for all of athletes and volunteers :)

서울시립동작청소년성문화센터가 강원도 원주에서 열린 평창올림픽 외국인 자원봉사자 교육을 진행했습니다. 봉사자들의 문화와 연령이 다양했기 때문에 강의는 기본 수준으로 진행될 수 밖에 없었습니다. 교육 내용은 성평등의 이해부터 SOS까지 5개의 주제로 이루어졌습니다. 지난 올림픽에서의 성폭력 이슈와 성폭력 통념, 성평등한 올림픽을 만들기 위한 우리의 실천 등을 살펴보면서 자원봉사자들은 성평등한 올림픽을 만들기로 다시 한 번 다짐하게 되었습니다. 자원봉사자들은 감사하게도 교육에 집중해 주셨고 강의를 했던 저 역시 그들의 젠더감수성에 감탄했습니다. 서울시립동작청소년성문화센터 역시 성평등한 평창동계올림픽&패럴림픽이 되기를 기원하며 모든 선수들과 자원봉사자들을 응원합니다! :)
